Mini-Cat Town

When I was little, I remember spending hours on the cool floor of my Nana’s storage room, watching as her pet mama cat would take care of her litter of kittens. I loved watching her and them! Of course, always happy to help if one strays too far away. The love I developed all those years ago has led me to discover a really cool volunteer job! I work for several hours every week or two at a place called Mini-Cat Town. If you love kittens and cats, you will love this place! And even if you don’t, thirty minutes here might change your mind. Mini-Cat Town is an animal rescue entirely owned, run, and operated by volunteers. Check out their website here: Mini Cat Town

We are located in a mall, which is really cool because it has a nice picture window where people can get a glimpse of the play area and check out the kitties on the floor. Then, if they want, they pay $15 for 30 minutes of play/snuggle time with the babies. If they find one they fall in love with, they go through an adoption process and add a new fur baby to their family. All proceeds go back to the kitties and upkeep of Mini-Cat Town. A win-win!

One of the neatest things is that people from all ages and walks of life come to play and can’t help but leave with a smile on their faces and a lifted spirit. And the times I have gotten to witness a family taking home their new family member -purrre joy!

Yeah, sometimes my job includes scooping poopy, cleaning kitty condos, and actually herding cats, but the adorable snuggles and laughter they provide make it all worth it!
